Caroline Brent-Chessum
Caroline Brent‑Chessum supports policy research by helping teams communicate clearly through well‑designed, accessible materials. Her work focuses on graphic design, document production, and coordination across projects, with consistent attention to detail and usability. She values collaboration and works closely with staff to ensure research products are clear, accessible, and aligned with organizational and client expectations.
She works with multidisciplinary research teams to design and format reports, presentations, proposals, and other dissemination materials. Her expertise includes desktop publishing, graphic design, template development, and document remediation for Section 508 compliance. Ms. Brent‑Chessum is particularly interested in making complex data and research findings easier to navigate through thoughtful layout, clear visuals, and consistent formatting.
Prior to joining PPA, Ms. Brent‑Chessum held positions at MEF Associates and Insight Policy Research, supporting projects across all policy areas and collaborating with research teams to transform raw data into visually compelling graphics, charts, and infographics. She supported publication workflows by maintaining branding standards, managing design requests, and coordinating with colleagues across research and technical roles.
Ms. Brent‑Chessum also has experience developing organizational templates and branding systems and supporting communications in nonprofit settings.
Education
Ms. Brent‑Chessum holds a Master of Arts Management (M.A.M.) degree from Carnegie Mellon University, through a joint program between the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy and the College of Fine Arts, and a Bachelor of Music degree (magna cum laude) in Voice Performance from the University of Maryland.
