Veronica Worthington

About

Ms. Worthington is a skilled researcher with experience in a variety of primary data-collection and analysis methods, research design, and reporting products. Her areas of interest include program evaluation in community development, health care, racial/social justice, criminal justice, and equitable systems change.

Prior to joining PPA, she served as a research assistant at the Racial Bias Lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. There, she assisted with survey creation and literature reviews, cleaned and analyzed data, conducted qualitative empathic coding, and co-authored manuscripts. She also worked in internship and volunteer roles at the YWCA of University of Illinois and Feeding Our Kids performing program development and evaluation activities. In those positions, she designed and implemented surveys, wrote data-collection protocols, reviewed policy, and conducted needs assessments.

Ms. Worthington’s strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate findings to a diverse audience are valuable to PPA’s clients.

Education

Ms. Worthington has a master of social work degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Her bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in criminal justice and international and global studies is from Winthrop University.

Ms. Worthington is a member of the Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, and Psi Chi Honor Society. She has received local and regional awards for her research and has published research in the Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research.
