Clyde Barnett III

About

Dr. Barnett is skilled in qualitative data collection and analysis, focus group facilitation, research design, leadership development, and assessment. As a P-20 education researcher, Dr. Barnett has strong communication skills ideal for connecting with myriad audiences.

Dr. Barnett brings an expertise in elevating student and community voices to his work. His research investigates transformative leadership and advising practices in P-20 education space. He has advised student leaders in K-12 schools and higher education institutions in cultivating spaces where they can grow into active, responsive, and ethical leaders who drive change.

Dr. Barnett serves as adjunct professor for the Leading for Equity and Justice certificate program at Eastern Michigan University and has worked in student affairs in higher education at both University of Michigan Ann Arbor and Flint campuses. Further, Dr. Barnett has led and co-led numerous student and community voice projects throughout the state of Michigan.

Dr. Barnett’s skills and background are ideal for clients wanting to gain nuanced perspectives of the communities they aim to serve in critical and co-constructed ways.

Education

Ph.D. and Ed.S. (educational specialist degree) in educational leadership and master’s in higher education/student affairs from Eastern Michigan University.  Bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing, University of Michigan-Flint.
