We hope you enjoy this recent insight into PPA!

A Michigan Tradition

One longstanding tradition in Michigan is the Mackinac Policy Conference and PPA is happy to take part each year.  This year, we were more eager than ever to connect with our partners, policymakers, and philanthropic leaders as we all delved into this year’s crucial theme: Michigan’s Equation for Impact.

“This theme resonates deeply with all of our work, emphasizing the vital interplay of vision, tools, action, and talent in driving Michigan’s future,” said CSO Dan Quinn.  “Each year, we closely follow the discussions around creating a better Michigan together and other key themes expected to emerge.”

What makes the Mackinac Policy Conference unique, unlike gatherings in many other states, is its remarkable and intentional setting: bringing hundreds of leaders across policy, philanthropy, business, and government together on an island. This distinctive, geographically isolated environment on Mackinac Island fosters open dialogue, informal networking, and focused collaboration that is often difficult to replicate in more conventional conference settings. Each year our team, looks forward to insightful conversations and contributions to solutions that shape a brighter future for Michigan.

In this month’s eNews, we are happy to share a new report on homelessness in Boulder County, Colorado, which includes findings that could be taken on by other communities wanting to make a difference. We are also happy to introduce you to our new Senior Research Associate, Dr. Neda Senehi in this month’s spotlight, as well as our new intern and affiliated consultant. Finally, we will be sharing a new working paper by members of our team on substitute teachers and a new website on dual enrollment.
