Training programs leading to entry-level job opportunities for minority, bilingual job applicants show promise of benefits for employers and employees, according to a new Public Policy Associates’ issue brief.
The brief, “Building Diversity in the Finance Industry,” highlights the Latinos in Finance program run by the nonprofit advocacy organization UnidosUS in close partnership with one of the nation’s leading banks. PPA conducted an independent evaluation of the 2018 program year.
Research shows that the finance industry in particular suffers from a lack of diversity in its ranks. Training programs that open doors to minority candidates who might otherwise be left out can create prosperous career paths, and improves employers’ services.
