The U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation Fund (WIF), active between 2012 and 2019, provided funding to test creative ideas for undertaking major system innovations within workforce agencies. Public Policy Associates, Inc. conducted evaluations of seven WIF projects across the country. These projects varied widely in their focus.
The majority of the projects targeted low-income job seekers and/or those with multiple barriers to employment. One project targeted employer customers exclusively. The efforts at innovation through these projects offered insights on how implementation approaches supported or hindered success. These are highlighted in the new PPA Issue Brief.
