The 2020 Child Care Market Rate Survey opens on October 26 to all licensed child care providers in Michigan. Providers have the option to take the survey online, on paper, or by telephone.
Public Policy Associates, Inc. is conducting the survey on behalf of the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Great Start. The survey asks providers about charges by age group and full- and part-time status, as well as willingness to care for children with subsidies. This iteration of the survey also includes questions about the effect of COVID-19 on costs.
The survey results inform decisions about policies and payment rates for the Child Development and Care assistance program.
