Mr. Simmer served in the U.S. Navy for six years. He studied computer science at the University of Hawaii. He has earned multiple WatchGuard, EDS, Novell, IBM, and Microsoft certifications in: Advanced Electronics, Operations Development, Network/Cyber Security and Management, Infrastructure Design, and Maintenance.
Also notable: Mr. Simmer refurbishes older PCs, donating them to seniors. He has been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 2007.
Mr. Simmer has expertise in network security, disaster recovery, systems project management, infrastructure design, and maintenance. Mr. Simmer provides PPA’s technical support, ensuring the smooth and secure operation of its networks, equipment, and communications. He applies his skills to review project agreements concerning data security, protect client data on the local network, educate staff on network security, maintain company collaboration systems, and support staff for all aspects of the company network.
He stays updated on current technologies by attending Microsoft Ignite Conferences and constantly exercising his knowledge in network-based projects.
Prior to joining PPA, Mr. Simmer worked as a senior systems engineer for Velocity Information Technology Services/Madeira Networks where he helped implement the Data Center, started Managed Services (Nable) and ITSupport247 (Continuum), planned and implemented network rollouts, and started the proper documentation of company clients.
