Currently he is pursuing a B.A. in sociology at Michigan State University.
Mr. Butts attends Michigan State University (MSU), where he is pursuing a B.A. in sociology. He brings excellent communication skills, strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and experience in qualitative data collection to this position.
He contributes to data collection and analysis tasks for several of PPA’s juvenile justice projects. In addition, he provides support to workforce development projects. Mr. Butts assists in analyzing interview and survey data, performing literature reviews, and identifying new topics of research for the Danville Community College project. He also contributes to Workforce Innovation Fund projects.
Prior to joining PPA, Mr. Butts served as a research assistant for the African Atlantic Research Team at MSU’s Sociology Department. The team studied the African diaspora while learning about qualitative research methods. He presented on findings from the field in Cuba and Spain. Mr. Butts is pursuing minors in youth and society, and health promotion. He will graduate in May 2018.
