The Michigan Department of Education and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) have awarded PPA and iEval Race to the Top funds. PPA and iEval will be designing, planning, and implementing an evaluation to track the progress made by Michigan’s Great Start Collaboratives (GSCs) and Great Start Parent Coalitions (GSPCs).
GSCs and GSPCs are focused on efforts to improve early childhood outcomes in all Michigan counties. Their goal is to coordinate all local early childhood programs.
PPA’s team will be led by Collen Graber. “We at PPA are excited to be working with iEval, ECIC, and the Office of Great Start, as well as the many members of the Collaboratives and Coalitions on this evaluation,” said Ms. Graber. “A well-functioning system that fosters awareness of the importance of early childhood and moves us toward strong outcomes is critical to our state’s long-term future—societally, educationally, and economically.”
