PPA partnered with Fox Valley Technical College to assess a new program designed to improve outcomes for students.
Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) was awarded a Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to incorporate enhanced technology components, contextualized education, prior learning assessment, increased veterans support, wraparound support services, mechanical aptitude assessments, and career navigation assistance to TAA-eligible workers, veterans, and other students. The project sought to increase student retention and course completion, accelerate time to attainment of industry-recognized credentials, and provide career pathways leading participants to employment in high-skill jobs with family-supporting wages. FVTC retained PPA to assess the program’s effectiveness through a quasi-experimental design.
