Public Policy Associates, Inc. (PPA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Jen Heeg, an expert in community strengthening, youth engagement, and equity/inclusion, has become an affiliated consultant with the firm.
Dr. Heeg has been a program director, technical advisor, team leader, trainer/facilitator, and evaluator for the United Nations, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the State Department, and privately funded programs around the world. In addition, she has written academic publications focused on qualitative and feminist research methodologies, U.S. foreign policy, and global inequality.
“We are delighted to add Dr. Heeg to our pool of talented affiliated consultants, whose education and experience enrich our work,” said PPA President Dr. Paul Elam. “Jen’s vast experience and passion for effective and equitable policies and programs will help our clients achieve their goals.”
Dr. Heeg is currently assisting with PPA’s work with the Council of Michigan Foundations to evaluate the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation program in Michigan.
She earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from the Department of Government at Georgetown University. Her work has taken her to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Dr. Heeg met Dr. Elam at a conference and was especially impressed with his commitment to culturally responsive assessment and putting youth first. “I want to do more equity work focused in the United States, and my affiliation with PPA will give me that opportunity.”
