Ms. Dalzell assists with data collection, analysis, and reporting tasks for research and evaluation in the area of juvenile justice. Her responsibilities include gathering juvenile justice data from local counties to help assess disproportionate minority contact in Michigan. Ms. Dalzell also conducts interviews with county court staff to develop to a statewide resource inventory.
Before joining PPA, Ms. Dalzell was an undergraduate researcher. Her research focused on the connection between interviewer question-framing and length of participant responses, in order to attempt to improve qualitative research methods. As a research assistant for Youth Advancement Through Athletics, she performed a systematic review of the literature surrounding community-based interventions for court-involved youth to determine the components of effective programming for juvenile delinquents.
